Nasser Khan Janjua has been appointed as National Security Advisor of Pakistan
- Retired Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua has been appointed as the new National Security Advisor (NSA) of Pakistan, signalling the powerful army's increasing grip on security affairs of the country and its dealings with India.
- Government has exempted the banking correspondents from service tax for opening savings account under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).
- This has been done to promote financial inclusion.
Japan offers India soft loan of $15 billion
- Japan has offered to finance India’s first bullet train, estimated to cost $15 billion, at an interest rate of less than 1 per cent after stealing a march on China, which is bidding for other projects on the world’s fourth-largest network.
